Longmont processes sign permits through its Development Services Center, and the city publishes clear submittal requirements. Two of them catch out-of-town suppliers:
- A City of Longmont sign contractor license and proof of insurance must be part of the application. A contractor not licensed with Longmont specifically cannot pull the permit.
- Submittals need architectural drawings and design renderings of the sign and its location, not a rough sketch.
Once a complete packet is in, the city indicates the process takes roughly 14 days. That is a usefully predictable number to plan an opening date around — provided the packet is complete first time, which is where most delay actually comes from.
